Hello There

My name is Jess Lauren. I am the owner and primary educator at the studio. I decided to become a teacher a few years ago when I saw the desire for art in the community of Ashville. I was a substitute teacher, and the kids continued to ask me to teach them how to draw things. I started an after-school program at the elementary school, and over 60 kids signed up. It was amazing! Then the pandemic happened. I took this time to get more education and decided I would be ready when it was right. In April 2021, I started teaching again. I then moved into the studio on September 1st, 2021. I am so honored to introduce a great group of students. When I have time, I work on my art. I am a mixed-media artist. I combine watercolor, acrylic, and ink. I also incorporate vintage paper and some handmade paper in my larger pieces. 
My biggest inspirations are nature and literature. My most extensive collection, which I have finished, is my Birth Moon collection, which includes the moon with the Birth flower for that month. I have created one for each of the twelve months and do customer Family Moons.
